Open-box rule: Photograph the carton, label, packing layers, glass, canopy, mounting parts and paperwork before installation. The Bellina order does not include bulbs or a dimmer, and hand-blown glass can have natural color and measurement differences. A calm, timestamped inspection makes it easier to distinguish a design variation from shipping damage or a missing component.
Read the Product Page Before Opening the Box
The Bellina Wall Lamp page lists a hardwired fixture, E26 or E27 socket, two bulbs, a 28 cm diameter, 25 cm height and about 13 cm wall distance. It states that bulbs and the dimmer are not included. Save a copy of the product details and selected color before delivery so your checklist matches the order rather than memory.
What You Should Expect to Find
The exact packing list depends on the selected variant, but a wall sconce normally requires the fixture body, glass shade or glass components, canopy or mounting plate, approved fasteners or mounting hardware, wiring connectors or instructions supplied for the product, and care or installation information. Do not assume that a universal screw, wall anchor or dimmer is included just because a product photograph shows a finished installation.
Separate “included with the order” from “needed for installation.” A product may supply a canopy and mounting plate while the electrician supplies the junction box, approved connectors, local fasteners, dimmer and wall anchors appropriate to the site. A bulb may appear in a lifestyle photograph but remain a separate purchase. Mark those categories on your checklist so a missing item is reported accurately rather than treated as a shipping error.
- Match the product name, variant and quantity to the order.
- Check the glass pieces, metal parts, canopy and any visible retaining hardware.
- Look for installation instructions, care notes and regional electrical information.
- Confirm whether bulbs, dimmer, wall anchors and decorative caps are excluded.
Inspect the Carton Before Discarding It
Photograph all sides of the unopened carton, shipping label and any visible puncture or crush mark. Open it on a clean, stable surface with enough room to lay out parts. Keep the box, inserts and wrapping until the fixture has been checked and the site's return or damage-report window has passed.
Use wide, well-lit photos rather than a single close-up. Include a ruler only for scale; do not press it against glass. If the delivery is visibly damaged, record it before moving the contents and follow the carrier or seller's reporting procedure.
Do not test an uncertain fixture by wiring it “just to see.” First finish the visual and parts inspection, then let the electrician install only after the shade, mounting parts and circuit plan are accepted. If packaging foam contains small fragments, keep them in the carton and photograph them; they can help show where an impact occurred.
Separate Natural Glass Variation From Damage
Hand-blown glass may show small variations in thickness, bubbles, waves, color density or symmetry. The Bellina page notes that color and measurement differences are inevitable. A stable bubble or slight asymmetry that matches the product character is not automatically a defect.
Damage has a different pattern: a sharp chip, crack, star-shaped impact, loose fragment, fresh scratch or a line that grows when the shade is handled. Do not install or energize a fixture with a cracked or unstable glass part. Photograph the feature with a wider context image and a close detail, then contact the seller before attempting repair.

Check the Mounting Parts Without Installing Them
Lay the hardware beside the canopy and compare it with the instructions. Confirm that screws, brackets, caps, connectors and any gasket or spacer shown in the instructions are present. Do not substitute a random wall plug or tighten a fastener into the glass. The mounting surface and box support must be evaluated by the electrician.
Because Bellina is hardwired, missing or uncertain electrical parts are not a reason to improvise. ESFI's home electrical safety guidance supports keeping electrical work controlled; ask a qualified electrician when the box, grounding or connectors are unclear.
Keep the hardware grouped by function: wall support, canopy attachment, shade retention and electrical connection. Place tiny caps or spacers in a labeled bag rather than loose on the work surface. If the instructions show a part that is absent, pause the installation and ask for confirmation; forcing a substitute can create both a fit problem and a safety problem.
Confirm the Bulb and Dimmer Expectations
The order does not include bulbs. Confirm E26/E27 base, local voltage, envelope size, lumen output, Kelvin and dimmability before buying a pair. The page lists dimmer compatibility but says the dimmer is not included. The bulb and control must be compatible with one another. ENERGY STAR's LED guide can help decode output and efficiency labels, but it cannot confirm a particular dimmer pairing.
Use a Simple Acceptance Record
- Record delivery date, order number and selected variant in your private notes.
- Photograph carton, packing, glass, metal parts and paperwork.
- Mark each item as present, intact, uncertain or missing.
- Compare color and form with the product page without treating screen color as exact proof.
- Report damage or missing parts before installation and keep all packaging.

FAQ
Are bulbs included?
No. The current Bellina product page says the order does not include light bulbs.
Is a dimmer included?
No. The page lists dimmer compatibility, but the dimmer is not included.
Is a small bubble in hand-blown glass a defect?
Not necessarily. Stable bubbles, waves or slight asymmetry may be natural variation; a new sharp chip, crack or loose fragment is a damage concern.
Can I install a fixture with a chipped edge?
No. Keep the fixture uninstalled and contact the seller with photographs before attempting repair.
How long should I keep the packaging?
Keep the carton and inserts until the inspection, damage-report period and initial installation check are complete.
