Odin Alabaster Wall Sconce
Odin Alabaster Wall Sconce — Spanish stone, brushed brass, capsule light.
Two alabaster capsules — hand-selected from natural Spanish alabaster — are set into a single brushed brass backplate, their rounded ends extending beyond the plate edge, their surfaces glowing from within with the warm, veined translucency that only natural stone produces. The Odin is a fixture of considered restraint: no superfluous detail, no decorative ornament beyond the material itself. Spanish alabaster and brushed brass are among the most refined combinations in contemporary luxury lighting — this is both.
Natural Spanish alabaster — each sconce is singular
The alabaster used in the Odin is quarried from natural deposits in Spain — one of the world's most prized sources for this stone. Vein patterns, amber tonal warmth, and surface translucency differ between individual pieces. The product you receive will not look identical to the display images; it will be its own — a direct expression of the stone's unrepeatable character.

Integrated LED.
The Odin uses a built-in LED light engine, factory-set and fixed at manufacture — there is no bulb to select or replace. The warm-white LED is tuned to pass through the alabaster and deepen its amber veining into the full, rich glow this fixture is designed to produce. Both 12W configurations are integrated LED; light output is rated at 1000 lm (S) and 1400 lm (L), with an expected lifespan of 30,000+ hours under normal use.

What makes Spanish alabaster different from other alabaster?
Spanish alabaster — primarily quarried in Aragon and other regions of Spain — is prized internationally for its exceptional translucency, the warmth of its amber and honey-toned veining, and its dense, even grain that holds light particularly well. It has been used in European ecclesiastical and architectural lighting for centuries. The natural variation between pieces is more pronounced than in manufactured materials, making each fixture genuinely singular.
Why does the stone look different from the photos?
Natural alabaster is quarried stone. Every block has its own vein pattern, tonal distribution, and translucency depth. The photographs show representative examples — not guarantees of exact appearance. Your sconce will have the same form and dimensions, and the same quality of material. What will differ is the specific pattern the stone carries. This is not a defect; it is the nature of working with natural material at this level.
Which size should I choose?
The S (H 25.5 cm) suits rooms with standard ceiling heights of 240 cm or more — bedside walls, dressing rooms, corridors, and bathroom vanities. The L (H 50 cm) creates a more commanding presence and is suited to foyers, living rooms, and stairwells with ceiling heights of 260 cm or above. Both produce sufficient ambient light for accent and mood — the L at 1400 lm is notably brighter and functions well as a primary wall light in a medium room.
Antique Bronze or Black frame?
The Antique Bronze (mottled patina) finish complements the natural amber warmth of Spanish alabaster — it is the more sympathetic pairing, where the metal's irregular aged tone and the stone read as part of the same warm palette. It suits classical, transitional, and warm-contemporary interiors. The Black (matte) finish creates a deliberate contrast — the dark backplate makes the glowing alabaster capsules read as objects floating against the wall. It suits contemporary, minimalist, and architectural interiors where contrast is a design intention.
Is the Odin certified for North America and Europe?
Yes. It holds certifications compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia and operates on AC 110–240V worldwide.
Sizing & questions
Every piece is made to order in our own atelier — here is what most clients ask before choosing theirs.
What size should I choose for my wall space?+
The S (4.9″ × 10″) suits intimate hallways and bedside walls. The L (4.9″ × 19.7″) commands foyers and living room accent walls. Both use the same dual-capsule form; choose based on your wall height and desired visual impact.
Will my sconce look exactly like the photos?+
No. Each sconce is hand-selected Spanish alabaster with unique vein patterns, amber tones, and translucency. Your piece will be singular—its own expression of the stone's unrepeatable character. Display images are reference only.
What finishes are available?+
Two options: Antique Brass & White (mottled patina bronze-gold, warm aged metal) and Black & White (matte bold contrast, contemporary). Both pair with the alabaster's honey veining. Antique brass deepens over time.
Can I customize the color temperature or finish?+
Standard warm light is 3000K, tuned to deepen the alabaster's amber veining. Neutral White (4000K) and Cool White (6000K) are available as custom orders from our atelier. Contact us for 24-hour response.
Is the LED replaceable, and how long does it last?+
No. No bulb needed. Expected lifespan is 30,000+ hours under normal use. The warm LED is tuned specifically to pass through Spanish alabaster for full, rich glow.

Lighting is more than just functional—it’s a defining element of your home’s design. Choosing the right size fixture ensures both visual balance and proper illumination. In this guide, we’ll show you how to determine the ideal fixture size for your space, plus expert tips for chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts, sconces, and more.
1. How to Calculate the Perfect Fixture Diameter
Selecting the correct fixture size starts with your room’s dimensions. A fixture that’s too small or too large can disrupt the balance of your space. Use this simple formula to find the right diameter:
Step 1: Measure the room’s length and width (in feet).
Step 2: Add the two numbers together.
Step 3: Convert the total from feet to inches — that’s your ideal fixture diameter.
Example:
For a 12 x 14 ft room → 12 + 14 = 26 → Ideal fixture diameter ≈ 26 inches.

2. Determining Fixture Height
Ceiling height plays an important role in choosing fixture proportions.
Formula:
Room height (in feet) × 2.5–3 = Fixture height (in inches)
Example:
For a 10 ft ceiling → 10 × 2.5–3 = 25–30 inches fixture height.
3. Ideal Hanging Heights
- Dining Table: 32–36 inches above the tabletop.
- Kitchen Island: 32–36 inches above the countertop.
- General Rooms: Keep at least 7 feet clearance from the floor to the bottom of the fixture.
For multiple pendants, each should be roughly ¼ the length of the surface below and evenly spaced.

5. Room-by-Room Tips
Living Room
Use chandeliers or pendants as statement pieces scaled to the room size. Add table or floor lamps for layered lighting and cozy ambience.
Dining Room
Choose a chandelier ½ to ⅔ the width of your table. For long tables, consider two or three smaller pendants spaced evenly.
Kitchen
Hang pendants 32–36 inches above the island for balanced task lighting. Add under-cabinet lighting to brighten work areas.
Bedroom
Use flush or semi-flush fixtures for soft ambient light. Pair with bedside lamps or sconces placed at eye level when seated.
Bathroom
Mount vanity sconces 65–70 inches from the floor, one on each side of the mirror to avoid shadows. Use flush mounts for even overhead lighting.
6. Mirror Light Size Guide (Above-Mirror Installation)
Choosing 2-Head or 3-Head Fixtures:
- Mirrors up to 50 inches wide: A 2-head fixture provides clean, balanced illumination.
- Mirrors over 50 inches wide: A 3-head fixture offers more even light distribution.
- Extra-wide mirrors: You may install two 2-head fixtures spaced evenly for better symmetry and coverage.
Installation Height:
- Mount the fixture approximately 4–6 inches above the mirror.
- Always center the fixture with the mirror for visual balance.
7. Ceiling Height Guide
- Low Ceilings (≤8 ft): Use flush or semi-flush mounts.
- Standard Ceilings (9–10 ft): Ideal for chandeliers and pendants.
- High Ceilings (10+ ft): Choose taller, statement fixtures that draw the eye upward.
Rule of Thumb: Allow 2.5–3 inches of fixture height per foot of ceiling height.
Final Thoughts
